The Rescue Sanctuary Path
Settling In Together
Service Description
Bringing home a rescue dog, whether from a local shelter or from overseas, is a beautiful and life-changing moment. It can also feel a little overwhelming. This path is specifically designed for those early days and months. I focus on the practical life skills and confidence building your new companion needs to feel truly at home. I am here to be your mentor, helping you navigate the settling-in period with patience and clarity. As your coach, I focus on giving you the skills to guide your dog through their new world. Please note: This path is for general training, life skills, and confidence building. If you are struggling with complex concerns like dags or aggression, our Behavioral Support Journey is the right place for you. How Your Journey Unfolds 01. Your Discovery Call (Free) We start with a 15 minute chat to hear all about your new arrival. It is a chance for me to understand your needs and reassure you that you are in the best possible hands. 02. Gathering the Details Before we meet, I will send over a short questionnaire. This helps us hit the ground running. I follow it up with a "what to expect" email so you feel completely prepared for our first session. 03. The Foundation Session Every rescue dog is a unique soul with a unique history. Our first meeting is a 75 minute consultation where we establish a baseline. Sometimes a new dog is too shy to show their full personality to a stranger right away. We use this time to set up your environment for success and give you immediate, practical guidance to start building that vital bond. 04. The Momentum Sessions Once we have our baseline, we move into three additional 50 to 60 minute coaching sessions. This is where the real-life training happens. We work in your home or local area where your dog feels most secure. We build a bespoke plan that focuses on what you need from your companion. Unrivalled Support I know that the first few weeks with a rescue can be a rollercoaster. That is why I offer a safety net of support throughout your two month journey. If you need to bend an ear or ask a quick question, I am only a text or email away. I am here to mentor you just as much as I am here to train your dog.
